BookBuzz interviewed The GwaK for an unfiltered conversation about his new memoir, The Station, the first installment in the upcoming Resumé of My Discontent series. In this candid interview, he discusses writing from personal experience, finding humor in life’s rougher moments, his no-outline approach to memoir, and the next book in the series, Malcontent. Readers can expect an honest, irreverent look at the voice and experiences behind this distinctive memoir.
The GwaK, author of the writing on the wall—the stall wall that is, an unfiltered, unrestricted, uncompromising voice of self-preservation. Born a bastard somewhere in the 1970’s at a high elevation, among a-holes gaslighting him into their slave fallacies, he’s unleashed himself upon the page. His work is derived from personal experience, bringing the macabre into focus with ruthless phraseology leaving his readers with pink eye. With that, The Station is the first volume in an upcoming series entitled Resumé of my Discontent. These memoirs of angst, strife, and hilarious introspection weave the author’s bio leaving no stone unturned and no wallet untapped.
Author Q&A
What inspired you to write your first book?
Anger, contempt, REVENGE!
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
There will be a message in my series, a very serious one, if I get that far. I don’t think my work will be understood until it’s complete and down to the middle finger. If I’m able to cap it all off or conclude my series Resume of my Discontent, I hope it to be something people will refer to every Monday morning with that first punch of the clock.
What are your current projects?
I’m working on my second book titled Malcontent, it’s about my childhood and what led me to The Station. My first book was about madness and being out of control, ending on nesting squirrels in a tree. Malcontent is about falling out of a trifling hole, in a bad situation, around some twisted individuals, and ending on my childhood’s expiration.
